No work permits for Non - EU postgraduates in Scotland
Under the scheme, postgraduates from Scottish institutions would not require a work permit. There would not be any restrictions on the kind of job they do.
This scheme will give opportunities to students to live and work in Scotland and is a major step forward from the present situation which requires students to return to their home country after completing the course if they are unable to find a job and obtain the necessary work permit.
Students who graduate with a higher diploma or a first class master’s degree or a Ph D from a Scottish higher education institution would be eligible to apply under the proposed new scheme.
